Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in

Special Education Leadership

Academic Focus:  Scholars will be prepared to:

(1.) Address the needs of students with disabilities;

(2.) Evaluate special and general education research to improve outcomes for students; and to

(3.) Comprehend current policy and legal issues regarding special education best practice.

Fellowship Support: Scholarships are assured for cohort members for the 5 years of the program.  The total scholarship award is approximately $40,000 for each scholar.

Classes: This is a 5-year, part-time EdD. Classes will be both online and in-person (which format to be determined each semester). Courses and associated program activities run fall, spring, and summer semesters. Two courses per semester in Fall (August 鈥 December), two course per semester in spring (January-May), and during the summer semesters there may be a course and a program related project/activities depending on the year. Courses are scheduled back-to-back so graduate students take one course at a time.

Capstone Project:   This doctorate program includes the completion of a Capstone Project. This will involve research on a question or issue of interest to the scholar to be conducted under the mentorship of a 金光佛论坛 professor during the final year of the program. Scholars will have a formal defense of their Project in the final semester of their program.

Scholarship Obligation:  Scholarship funds are provided by a grant from the U. S. Department of Education. There is a 鈥淪ervice Obligation鈥 requirement attached to the scholarship funds. For more information please see:
